Data Viewer can be used to convert from one CSPro data file format to another. For example, you can:
- Convert from a CSPro DB file to a text file.
- Convert from a text file to a CSPro DB file.
When you convert between these formats, in addition to the case contents, the following case-related data will also be converted:
- Case labels
- Case and field notes
- Partial save statuses
- Verification information
- Open the data file.
- Click the File menu, select Save As, and then select Data.
- Enter a file name for the converted data file. If the file has the extension .csdb, the file will be saved in CSPro DB format; if the file has the extension .csdbe, the file will be saved in Encrypted CSPro DB format; otherwise the file will be saved in text format.
By selecting Dictionary from the File / Save As menu, you can extract a dictionary that is embedded in a CSPro data file.
By selecting Notes from the File / Save As menu, you can extract a data file's notes. Based on the file name you provide, Data Viewer will create a data file consisting of the notes as well as a dictionary that can read the notes data.
