Pre-filled data variables

During data entry, I have observed that some of my previously entered data is "posted" to other variables as if to pre-fill the data entry slots. This causes headaches when I am exporting for analysis. How can I eliminate this?

check your logic, maybe you linked your variables unaware...

You should check your syntax and next thing if you will change the lenght in the middle of your work then you will ruin all the data. So, in order to check it you should reform than only change the length. Before taking any major changes you need to have a back up as well.

If you made any change in the dictionary (such as add new variables or change the length of any variable) it will mess your data. Before start using your application always test it and make sure you did everything needed.

Usually what I do is give some tablets (I use CAPI in almost every surveys) to my colleagues so they can test it!
