Array & Show Function

Post by Stavros »

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to combine arrays with the show function or with another function in order to display the contents of the array. Up till now I am always combining arrays with the setvalueset function but I would like to know if there are other ways apart from the setvalueset as sometimes I do not want to use it as a value-set.

Best,

Have you looked at the new ways that the accept function can use arrays, and the new showarray function? They're both documented here:

Hi Gregory,

Thanks a lot! -showarray- is a lifesaver! Do you think it is safe to use the beta version for a CAPI household survey?

I've used the beta version of 6.0 for a pilot survey in China with no problems, though that was on the Windows platform, not Android. As far as we can tell, 6.0 is pretty stable. We're releasing it as an official release in a week or two.

Hi Gregory,

We are going to use Windows(8.1) tablets for the survey, so I hope it will go smoothly.

Dear Stavros,
If you intend to use Windows 8.1 in a complexe survey with Csentry, you should have a tablet with at least 4GB RAM and a lot of graphic memory. In my last experience, i used Toshiba Encore Tablet (2GB RAM), but i had to stop the pilot survey because:
1.- Csentry run slowly,
2.- Csentry's and the Windows freezed, mainly each time we scroll to navigate in the form,
3.- The form is not touch friendly as the Android Version...
4.- The label melt on each other when we navigate on the form
The Android version is not very stable and not surveyor friendly... because:
1.- It crashed randomly each time...
2.- As it can't displayed multiple field on a screen and roster...it's not surveyor friendly for complexe survey,

But, it's touch friendly! and very fluid!
