we want to create a drop down in a form but we are getting the error "The selected capture type is not compatible with this item's first value set".
we initially created values for the item in apha data type and also tried in numeric but same error persist. Anyone with experience to share?

Are you getting a run-time error or just a warning? For if it's a warning you can ignore it if the program is working as desired. This usually happens when a dictionary variable does not have a value set, but gets set in the program to a workable type. If it's actually something that isn't working, could you send us your zipped program? (see Pack Application in the Tools menu).
