Capture type DATE

Dear All,
There is an input field (length 8 / Numeric) set to capture type as date, if works when selecting date by scrolling up and down in android.
It gives facility to change date by long press (Year, Month or date). When change the year or one field with long press and move forward to next screen it does not record the correct value (last change) we enter in to system (through date widget).
