finding text in the editor

This new editor is very good, but...
The find tool in the old editor had three basic things that the new one does not have:
1. It shows the find box in the top left, almost always over the program text (the old one showed the box at the top right).
2. It does not store the old texts (the old one had a down arrow to choose late finds)
3. After the find the box stays active, you have to close it by hand (the other one closed automatically)
Is there a way to implement that in the new find tool?
