I am having problems with "embedded" rosters -- rosters which have two levels such as jobs within multiple persons, or persons within multiple types of program participation. They work fine while going forward through the interview, but they get confused when interviewers move backwards to previous questions. Identifiers at both levels get scrambled and it's not clear what to do when the interviewer is finished with that line.

Anybody have any experience, or better, templates that avoid this problem?

Are you are talking about a roster that is on a repeating form or a two level dictionary?
