Use the 2 versions of CSPro together

Post by maria »

Hi,
I have a question, you can use the two versions of CSPro?, Version 4.1 and 5.0 together, is that on one hand I have applications running on mobile devices and on the other I want to work in the new version consistencies applications and data entry.
Thanks ..

You have to be careful when you use two versions of CSPro at the same time. On the one hand, tricking CSPro 4.1 to read a 5.0 file is as simple as:

1) Using the Unicode Text Converter to convert the files from UTF-8 format to ANSI format

2) Opening the files in a text editor and changing "Version=CSPro 5.0" to "Version=CSPro 4.1"

This is not a problem as long as you don't use Unicode scripts (for example, Arabic or Chinese) and you haven't used any new functions or features available in CSPro 5.0.

The good thing is that, once you open a file created in CSPro 5 in an earlier version, you will immediately know if it is compatible. You will get warning or error messages if you have used features that CSPro 4.1 does not understand.
