Exporting data

Post by hari »

Dear All

I am new to CSPro so got lot of problems and doubts while using it. One is that when I export my data (.dat) file to excel, all the data are merged and is not provided in column as desired and more over when I export it to stata, I just get V1 (probably as variable) instead of what i desired of having all data under its proper variable names.. Kindly do help me

Can you post your dictionary here or email it to me (gregory.martin@census.gov)? It is likely that your export settings are not configured properly. For example, your selection under "Output of Multiple Record Occurrences" is a very important determination of how your data will be exported.

The .dct file is used to set up the proper variable and value labels in Stata, so something is not working properly if you area unable to get your dictionary variable names and labels in Stata.
