Dictionnary doesn't open

Post by yasran »

Hello world!
I'm a student and i'm builting a dictionnary for an survey and I 'm encountering a problem with my cspro's dictionnary. I try to open it but it doesn't. I have an error like "File must exit and have an extension .ENT, ..., .DCF or .FMF". Could you help to fix it please ?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Yasran,

Did you figure out the problem in opening your file? If not, could you please send the file you're trying to open? It sounds like you have created a file without the "dcf" extension.

FYI, questions regarding data entry applications should be created in the "Entry" folder. Thanks

That message is a generic CSPro message when it cannot open a file. Your dictionary may be corrupt, or it may be created in a newer version of CSPro than what you have on your computer. You can send it to cspro@lists.census.gov or post it here and we can see if we can recover part of the dictionary.
