table viewer side by side

The scenario is the following:
I need to compare two tabulations, one from the non edited (raw) data, and the other from the imputed data.
I tried to use the window tile side by side option, and it worked for the first filed, but as soon as I change the field to look at the next variable the screen returns to a single display of one of the files.
Is there a way to see the tables side by side?
Another issue is: is there a way to save the tabulations as an excel file? the html option does not support multiple fields.
Another alternative would be opening two instances of the table viewer, but I could not do that, unless I install a previous version of the system and use the previous table viewer to open the second table file.
