Password in data file

Post by btri Arjun »

Dear team

Thanks for the adding “Password” in the date file “.csdbe”. When we want to download the data form the “Data Viewer" and choose the path than “Save as types” there are the two data file extensions *.csdb and *.csdbe. If we choose *.csdb, it won’t ask any password and if we choose *.csdbe, it ask new password. Here my question is that: if some hacked the server, he can download the data file and may misused it. So, how can we make our data secure in this condition? So, my concern is that, if the data file extension is .csdbe, the data file will be download in the same .csdbe (not .csdb) must following the same password which was set in the data file.

Thank you

Best

The csdbe file only secures the data on the tablet. The idea is if the tablet falls into the wrong hands the file cannot be read. The data is not encrypted on the server. You would need to use standard cyber security techniques to secure your server to avoid someone accessing the data on the server.
