Error Connecting Sync Server

Post by munirmdee1 »

Hi All,

I'm getting an error when I'm trying to connect to an FTP Server. Actually, when I synchronize data it works fine, but when I'm trying to download it from the FTP Server, it gives me an error saying "Error connecting Sync Sever".

I'm using DataViewer to download the data, by accessing File->Download, then put my FTP URL and click connect, it connects, but when displaying "Downloading data file list..." it fails and gives me an error message saying "Error connecting Sync Sever".

What could be the cause or reasons for this? how to solve it?
I'm using an FTP server.

Thank you in advance.

Please look at the sync.log file on your computer to get details on the error. You can find sync.log in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\CSPro.

Hi Josh,

Im getting the same error, when I open Sysnc.log I see this message "Server denied you to change to the given directory".

What does that mean? and how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure that on the FTP server the user you created has permission to read/write the default directory associated with the account. You can test this using an FTP client like FileZilla.

It is also possible that you have the wrong username/password. Some FTP servers don't report an error when logging in but wait until you try to change directories and then report the error.
