Digital signature

Post by Arjun Brti »

Dear team

1. If we take the digital signature on CSPro, there is only options "Save" and "Clear" but there is not displayed the forward navigation key. So enumerators should tap back key on android screen and should tap on forward key. If the forward key displayed on the side of signature, which will be very easy to go to next field.

2. How can we make the signature as required? (enumerator must obtained the signature).
3. There are still alliterate respondents who cant sign. In this condition how can we obtained the signature? any solution?

Thank you.

Regards
Brti

Hi Brti,

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of support for signatures right now. That will likely change will signature widgets are introduced, but that won't happen for at least a year.

[1] Forward navigation: the signature isn't a field, so there's no 'Next Field' key.

[2] Required sig: There's no real way to validate a signature right now. Even if the enumerator presses "save" without anything happening in the signature area, a file will be created. And since it will have a non-zero size, there's nothing you can do to adjudicate it.

[3] For those who can't sign: for the blind or illiterate persons, the paper process is to ask the question(s), ask if they understand, and if so, place their hand in the area reserved for the signature--at which point they either sign their name (for ex, just because a person is blind doesn't mean they always were) or for them to make an "X" at the spot. For electronic devices, the process would generally be the same. This should be something decided upon by the survey designers.

Any device to read and write fingerprint is the best for signature
