Post by AriSilva »

Hi folks,
I just got a new tablet to play with a 10" Samsung using Android 11.
I cannot find the csentry user files.

Hi Ari,

I just got a new Samsung phone running Android 11, and I hadn't yet installed CSEntry on it, as I test on my tablet. But figured now was a good time to install. And of course I got the same problem, couldn't see my files below Android > data, as this was an Android change. Possible strategies:

[1] We discussed this on our main page (https://www.csprousers.org/). Did you see that, did that work for you? Tho on that page it says go to "Settings > Storage", but on my phone, I had to go through "Settings > Battery and device care > Storage". However, once there, I did not find any "Files" (only installation files and compressed files). Drilling into the advanced option I saw Files, but nothing prompted me to choose my default app (possibly because I already had a files manager installed).

[2] I then searched & found this page: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/commen ... folder_on/
which basically gives the same instructions that we do. However, they mentioned installing this file manager, which worked for me, i.e., gave me access to our folder structure, /Android/data/gov.census.cspro.csentry/files/csentry:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... marc.files

[3] Another file manager does the same, which Greg uses: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... n_US&gl=US

Hope this helps.

Thank you Sherrell,
Now I have installed that marc.files you´ve recommended, and it does the job.
I could not find the one that Greg uses, could you send me the complete path/address?
I also did the file management I needed by connecting the tablet to my computer via USB, but this is too cumbersome.
Thank you again

Hi Ari,

How funny, clicking on the 3rd URL doesn't launch? It's the editor that's abbreviating what you see, I can't control that. See below, I've split it across 2 lines so you can read it. It's called Cx File Explorer.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/
details?id=com.cxinventor.file.explorer

Sherrell, you are great!
It worked, this CX Explorer can see inside the csentry folders.
Thanks a lot
