Re: Two level Dictionary

The Census Bureau does not recommend that people use two-level applications, but if you must, then you will have to write code to keep track of how many second level occurrences have been added, and then endlevel when they match the total count from the roster. For example, this will work in most ca...

Re: Selecting the first item of a repeated item

I haven't used SAS in over 10 years, so I'm not familiar with this command. Can you explain it in more detail? Do you want to select the first case in the data file, or the first occurrence of a roster? If the latter, how would first.EA be different from EA(1)?

Re: Launching GPS Point in Android Google Earth from CSPro

For the current release, we're just going to support one point. You'll make a call like this: execsystem ( "gps:38.8977,-77.0365,White House" ); In the future we'll look into displaying more than one point at a time. I can see how this would be useful for displaying to interviewers where t...

Re: Trouble reading GPS Values

I'm a bit confused. So is this summary correct: Tablet in English - GPS works Tablet in Spanish - GPS does not work Phone in Spanish - GPS works Is that right? Are you saying that the GPS coordinates are correct on a phone in Spanish mode but not on a tablet? That is strange. I just want to make sur...

Re: CSentry Android Smartphone; GPS function and button

What error message are you getting when you run the gps? I've tested received GPS coordinates on a French device and it worked for me. You must have a GPS receiver to get coordinates. While a cell network can approximate your location, we don't have access to this data from within the CSEntry applic...

Re: The best way to collect forms from the Android version.

There is no centralized repository similar to ODK Aggregate. The data is stored in text files on the local device. The released version will have a sync tool, however, which will let you upload your data to an FTP server, or to sync it with a Dropbox account. With those options, you could sync your ...

Re: Android version - sizing CAPI window to fit text

I mean can you actually send me the CAPI text. Copy the text (in the CSPro designer) from the question that doesn't display correctly and post it here, or email it to gregory.martin@census.gov. I'll create an application with that text to test it myself. Just so you know, on most Android devices, yo...

Re: Csentry and touchscreen technology

On our list of things to do is upgrading the version of CSEntry on Windows to make it more touch friendly, but we have a few tasks that we are going to do before that, including focusing on adding multiple question per screen functionality for Android. We agree that, as it is designed currently, CSE...

Re: Unable to edit data in rooster

What is an example of a roster that is not editable? What is the name of the roster? The screenshot that you posted concerned not being able to add a row, but now you are saying that you are just trying to modify an existing row. What happens when you try to modify an existing row?
