Show Variable Tree
Most of the problems we are facing here with our surveys are produced by the misuse of the Variable Tree. Interviewers want to be very "smart" and "dribble" the application, doing the application navigation by themselves. By doing that, sometimes they are provoking data inconsist...

Re: Changing the dictionary during the actual survey
I´m using a batch program with syncconnect and syncdata to download the data from the server. And I´m using the Deploy to update the CSEntry application in the server, but I did not know if this deploy updated also the dictionary in the server. So, as far as I understand, I´m safe, right? I can chan...

Re: Changing the dictionary during the actual survey
Suppose I need to change the valueset of a variable, inserting a new category. I change the dictionary and then I deploy the application to be used by the interviewers. So far so good. But... I already have a bunch of questionnaires in the server, in the csdb file, that used the old dictionary. What...
pff edit
I was trying to edit the attached pff file, changing the extension of the output file to TEXT. In the editor it said it was changed, I saved the file, but when I tried to execute it (inside a runner), it had not changed the extension to TEXT, it was still CSPRODB, and, of course, I got an error mess...

Re: Saving changes
My fault, I didn´t even try it. The thing is that I saw in another software that when you pass the mouse over an icon in the toolbar it shows the Action as text (like in CsPro), PLUS it shows ALSO the shortcut, and that mislead me, when I passed the mouse over the run icon and did not see anything, ...

Saving changes
A tiny detail: After adding a new file to the program, you can save the program but (it seems) that the save_flag is not cleared, because every time you want to the execute the program it asks to save it, you say YES, but the flag is not cleared. You need to close the program (it will still ask to s...

Changing the dictionary during the actual survey
When using a text file (.dat) to store the cases, it was possible to add variables to the end of each record in the dictionary. The new questionnaires using the new dictionary would have values for those new variables, whereas the old questionnaires already collected would have notappl for those new...

Dictionary too big
I have a very lengthy dictionary (attached). Record type 40 (D_MORADORES) has a maximum of 20 cases and it is 2862 bytes long. When opened in DataViewer, it takes forever to show a case (example attached). In DataViewer, if asked for Frequencies, it takes forever to show the dictionary for choosing ...

Executing an excel file from cspro
I wanted to start an excel file from inside a cspro application. I´ve tried to use the execsystem but it does not execute the file, as in execsystem("ELSI_51_Controle_Coleta.xlsm"); If I put the whole path for the excel application in my machine it calls the excel, but this is not good eno...
