maketext using a message number

The Message File help mentions that you can use the message number in a maketext function. I´m using it all the time and it works. It is very good. I would suggest to include that in the maketext syntax, with an example, like string s = maketext(155); and a cross reference See Also Message File And ...

Re: mutilevel dictionary

I´ve never used the multilevel myself. As I wrote at the beginning of the issue, even if I have a dictionary with the traditional dwelling(1), household(many), person(many), we avoid the multilevel approach. The reason I´m starting to "get acquainted" with the subject is to use it to generate redata...

Re: mutilevel dictionary

Hi Khurshid, Thank you for your kind answer, but the title of this issue might have misled you on my concerns about multileveling. It is not in the data entry part of it, but it is in the data editing phase I´m worried about. I´ve looked at the link in the help->examples and yours, but both are focu...

mutilevel dictionary

Is there a paper on working with multilevel dictionaries? I´ve never done that before, all the dictionaries I´ve worked with had a single level, even if the multilevel was "embedded", or hidden, like in a dwelling/household/person structure. What I´ve used to do was having three variables, one for e...

Re: Dataviewer editing data

I´m sorry, but I understood that, by reading the Security Options screen of the dictionary, that the first checkbox option "Allow the use of Data Viewer to modify data", would provide that facility.

Dataviewer editing data

I´ve created a dictionary with the security options marked as to Allow the use of Data Viewer to modify the data.
The dcf now has a security key.
I´ve generated a csdb with that dictionary.
In data viewer, I did not see any option to be able to change the data.

Re: pffrunner, rearranging groups and items in the group

2 bad I belong to a minority group. Is this not a form of user´s discrimination? (I´m joking) I really understand the huge problems you and your team are involved with right now, and, as I said, it is easy to circumvent this limitation. On the other hand, even if it is easy to call other application...

pffrunner, rearranging groups and items in the group

When adding a new group (or a new item in a group), it goes to the end. If we want to rearrange it to go up, between existing groups, we have to "move" the existing groups to the root group, which will force them to the end. This happens alo inside a group with the pff items. Why not have two button...

file object

Hi folks,
The file object has some functions, like read, open, close, but there is no function to set it. Why not?
myfile.set(filename);

Just for the sake of completeness, there is no relevance nor priority to this issue.
