Hi Josh
I'm still puzzled by this part of my code not working. Would you be able to take a look at this section of the application that I sent to you last week? Let me know if I need to send the application again.
Many thanks

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Hi Savy and Josh I just wanted to say a big Thank You for resolving this problem so quickly. We have carried out more field testing this week using the Amharic CAPI, and the speed of movement between the screens is very good now. We are carrying out a further test of adding 100 cases to one tablet t...

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Oh, I see...I need to write the pff file using filewrite and include my ID items (cluster & household number) as parameters so that it knows what case to try to open...and I guess at that point it will ask if I want to go to the last position in the case...

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Hi Josh I've tried the following in one of my items. This saves and closes the open case, but it doesn't attempt to re-open that same case and ask if I want to go to the last position - it just leaves me in the data entry window with the list of cases (which I guess savepartial would do on its own)....

Using demode() as a CAPI condition
Hi - I am trying to write a CAPI condition using demode, so that the CAPI text displayed when a case is being added is different to that displayed when a case is being modified. In the condition window I've tried using demode() = Add for the first condition and demode() = Modify for the second, but ...

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Hi Josh I was wondering if you have any update about this problem? We went ahead with our field testing on Tuesday, but the time to move from one data-entry screen to the next became so long that we had to abandon using the tablets and move to paper questionnaires. We also started to get a message s...

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Morning Josh - I really, really appreciate your help and support in this. And it's incredibly useful to know that you are finding the same problem. We are doing some field testing today with the application that I sent to you, in Amharic - we planned it several weeks ago, and have decided to go ahea...

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Hi Josh - here is my application - apologies in advance for my poor programming.
Any advice at all on how to deal with this would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
Keith

Re: Android - major problem with speed using Amharic
Hi Josh - thanks - the slowdown doesn't happen immediately - for the first 60 questions or so all seems fine, but by the time I get to question 150 the advance to the next screen is noticeably slow, and by around question 300 the delay is around 20 seconds. None of us have actually made it to the en...
