Dear CSPro Team,
We got a problem regarding failed uploading cases in the field.
When some of the surveyors synchronized to the csweb, it failed uploading cases as shown below.
We guessed it's because of their bad internet connection so far. We've also tried to synchronize in the head office using desktop and smartphone to the csweb server with the same syncapp and there's no problem found.
Would you mind checking if our guess is right?
Or does this happen due to one to three surveyors updated their csentry to the latest version?
FYI, we used the older version of the csentry, 7.1.2
Here we attach the sync.log.
Kindly please help us. Thank you very much.
Warm Regards,
lusia

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
That could be a connection error but could also be a different problem. Could you check the log files on the server to see if there is more information there? The CSWeb log file is in csweb/logs/api.log. You should also check the Apache error log. The location of that file will depend on your Apache setup.
Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
Dear Josh,
I've already checked the api.log and the error.log. Below is the screenshot of the error.log I've already restart the apache service on my xampp. But I still failed uploading cases to the csweb.
Here I attach the api.log from csweb and the error.log from apache.
Kindly please help me.

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
I see an error about invalid date/time when syncing a note. We had a problem with the this in an earlier version of CSWeb that is now fixed. I'm guessing that based on your post about upgrading to version 7.2 that you are upgrading and that the problem will go away once you do.
Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
Is it enough if I just upgrade the csweb or do I need to upgrade both the csentry and csweb?
Then are there any consequences if I upgrade the csweb to the latest version meanwhile the surveyors still use the older version?

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
You can just upgrade CSWeb to 7.2 and use CSPro 7.1 on the tablets.
Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
Okay, Josh. I'll try to upgrade the csweb to the latest version.
If there're any problem, I'll inform you later.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
Dear Josh,
I've upgraded the csweb to the latest version 7.2.
But I still have the same problem.
Because I'm still testing it in the head office, I do it via desktop application to synchronize. In the field, some of surveyors could synchronize successfully, some got the same error "failed uploading cases" and the others could synchronize but their cases are not added in the dictionary in the csweb. The surveyors use smartphone by the way.
Here I attach the api.log from csweb/logs and from apache logs.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
Adding to what I said above, I suspected something strange regarding "failed uploading cases".
If the synchronization never been gotten an error before, the synchronization succeeds. But if once it got an error, the synchronization will always have an error even though I've upgraded the csweb to the latest version.
Even when I recompile the existing csdb (the one that got "failed uploading cases" error) and synchronize it through another smartphone, it gets the "failed uploading cases" error.
Kindly please help me. Thank you in advance.

Re: Need confirmation about Failed Uploading Cases (500)
From the log file it looks it fails when one of the cases being uploaded contains a field note. That would explain why it works for some tablets and not others. For some reason it is not correctly handling the format of the date/time that the note was modified. Could you send one of csdb files that causes the error when you sync it? You can send via pm or email to cspro@lists.census.gov.
