Comparing a dcf dictionary with the one embedded in the csdb

Hi Folks, I´m running an edit program that reads a csdb file, and the messages that are shown does not match with the file contents if I use a dataviewer/frequency tool. For example, I have an edit saying if not invalueset($) then errmsg("PCV4: %d",$); //debugging endif; All the records fa...

Re: escape characters (\n)

Great,
Thank you very much, I was going crazy because of that.
As a suggestion, this should be included in the help. The only reference I found to the escape character in the help was in the writefile command, and it does not say that we could use it in errmsg, msgtext, etc.

escape characters (\n)

I have two CsEntry applications, both CAPI, both having errmsgs using \n.
In one of them the \n does not work.
I´ve tried using maketext, changing the \n from inside the message and having it in the formatting string for no avail.
Is there a software option or a flag that I have to set?

csentry application called by another program

1. Is it possible for an external (outside CsEntry) application to start a CsEntry application? 2. Is it possible to close CsEntry when a CsEntry application stops? I mean, when an application stops it returns control to CsEntry, and CsEntry is still running. Can we stop CsEntry besides closing it b...

displaying a gauge or something like that

Is there a way to display something in the screen for the user to know that the system is working? For example, at the beginning of the program I have to load a lengthy table, take takes time. The application seems to be in loop, but it is working. I was thinking about displaying a message like &quo...

Re: tableviewer called by another program

I thought of that, but in this case I would need to define the list of the fields to be displayed. I thought also of using a dataentry-like program in cspro to be called from the controller via building a pff, using the modify option, and passing the caseID to the called program. It works, I already...

Re: tableviewer called by another program

Sorry, I should have written that beforehand. The scenario is the following: I have a cspro program (desktop) that downloads the survey file from the server, and produces some statistics. In fact, it is used for production control, by counties, census tracts, operators, etc. Depending upon some info...
